Foot Health is very similar to Chiropody and Podiatry and comprises of cutting toenails and treating any painful places on your feet.
A lot of people forget to look after their feet but, as most of us are aware, when there is a problem with them, it can cause difficulties and discomfort. Corns and callus, caused by continued friction on certain areas of the feet, can become painful and sore. Corns are especially painful when direct pressure is applied. The type of shoes that are worn can help alleviate the discomfort, but the best treatment is to have them removed by a professional. Corn plasters are not recommended as they can damage healthy skin around the corns and cause more pain and discomfort.
Classical Chinese Medicine can treat a wide range of problems, and complements many conventional medical treatments. Used as a diagnostic system, it combines herbal treatments with nutritional advice and specific Qigong exercises, to regain health. The practitioner will assess your symptoms, general constitution and activity levels, making individual recommendations specific to you.
Classical Chinese Medicine encourages one to eat locally and seasonally. This helps the body to process and assimilate the foods it receives more efficiently; obtaining the most goodness from foods eaten helps to maintain a strong, healthy system. The practitioner will find a logical, easy to follow solution to a healthy diet; tailored to your individual need.
Sports Massage and Injury Therapy
Each type of sports massage uses different massage techniques. Effleurage is a light stroking that can be performed with the palms or the thumbs. The pressure and speed is varied depending on the muscle and the desired result. Effleurage increases blood flow to the muscle.
Petrissage is a form of two-handed kneading in which both hands pick up the muscle and compress it. This technique loosens tight bunches of muscles. Percussive strokes are blows or strikes on the muscle, often performed with the little fingers. They are used to tone the muscles. Cupping involves percussing or striking the muscles with cupped hands. It stimulates the skin and causes muscle contractions that help tone the muscles.
There are variations on all these strokes, such as deep cross-fiber friction to separate muscle fibers and break down scar tissue, and jostling to relieve muscle tension. A good sports massage therapist will combine techniques to achieve the maximum desired result.

Acupuncture is an ancient form of treatment that has been used in the East to promote good health for thousands of years.
Extremely fine, sterile needles are inserted into points along the meridians to help guide the body towards a balanced state. Needles may be shallowly or deeply inserted or non-insertion techniques may be used.
Subtle adjustments to position, depth and duration of needling ensure that each treatment is tailored entirely individually for each patient so their body/mind is supported to repair and to protect itself.
Treatments are designed to improve immediate symptoms but also to benefit the patient on a deeper level from where imbalances may have their root. The aim of the traditionally trained acupuncturist is to produce relief from symptoms, re-balance the body/mind and to promote a sense of well-being for each patient. You may notice that other symptoms in addition to those you primarily want treated, improve after acupuncture.
Acupuncture is often used to treat painful conditions such as migraine, lower back pain and osteoarthritis. It is also used to help people with a range of conditions from anxiety to infertility.
‘Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ear, correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health for their clients.’
